This afternoon, Hon. Leah Ng’anga, the representative for the Kabatini ward, has requested an update from the Chairperson of the Committee on Disaster Management regarding the Fire Fighting Department within the County Executive.
Specifically, she is interested in the number and distribution of available fire engines, the disaster preparedness of the department, and the skills of the officers attached to it.
Hon. Simon Kamau Karanja (Kihingo ward) has also requested a statement from the Chairperson of the Environment, Energy, and Water Committee about the Department’s measures to address toxic emissions from the Giotto dumpsite, which are posing a risk to the local population.
Finally, Hon. Joseph Mwangi Muraya (Viwandani ward) has asked for a statement from the Chairperson of the Culture, Sports, and Community Services Committee about the impact of the sports fund on the youth in Nakuru County, with the aim of creating opportunities for talent development.
Speaker Joel Karuri Maina has given the relevant committees 14 days to issue comprehensive responses to the issues raised in the House.
